    AlphaESS export, and release notes

    • New: these release notes. Find them at the bottom of every page, next to the version number.
    • Schedules that run back to back, such as one charge ending at 23:59 and the next starting at 00:00, no longer cancel each other out. The ending schedule now leaves the next one alone.
    • AlphaESS: Wonder Batt can now export your battery to the grid when it pays. To switch it on, add the email and password you use in the AlphaESS app to your inverter settings. Without them, Wonder Batt still charges your battery when power is cheap and uses it for your home.
    • AlphaESS: charges and exports now always reach your inverter. AlphaESS only accepts times on the quarter hour, and windows ending at other times were being turned away.

    Agile plans can see tomorrow

    • On Agile, Wonder Batt now plans tomorrow on a price forecast until Octopus publishes the real prices at about 4pm. During the day it can see the night ahead, so it can decide whether to use or keep your solar.
    • The plan page says which hours are on forecast prices.

    Fix for Always charge to 100%

    • Always charge to 100% now only ever looks at the night. On Agile, before tomorrow’s prices were out, it could treat a cheap half hour at midday as the cheap period and charge from the grid while the sun was out.

    Smarter overnight charging

    • When the cheap hours all cost the same, Wonder Batt now charges early at full speed and then holds. That leaves time in hand if your home turns out to need more than expected.
    • A charge aiming for 100% (always charge to 100%, a full charge cycle or an Axle event) now tells your inverter 100%, rather than an estimate that could stop it short.
    • Batteries that hold noticeably less energy near the bottom of their charge are now planned with their own measured curve, so evening exports leave enough for the house.

    Always charge to 100%

    • New option in Wonder Batt’s setup: always charge to 100% by the end of each night’s cheap period, for peace of mind. Wonder Batt still sells what your home won’t need later, when that pays.
